NOW Communities organized a community engagement activity on 24 January 2026 in Ilyas Goth, Landhi. The purpose of the activity was to raise awareness among women and workers about labour laws and workers’ rights.
The session also highlighted key local issues, including access to clean water, sewerage, gas and electricity supply, difficulties in obtaining national identity cards (CNICs), and the registration process for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
More than 80 women participated in the activity, where they shared both individual and collective concerns.
Ms. Farhat Parveen, Executive Director of NOW Communities, listened attentively to the participants and guided them on effective strategies to address these issues.
She also emphasized the training and capacity-building of local youth, enabling them not only to support their families economically but also to play an active role as social workers in resolving community-level issues.
