On December 5, 2024, NOWCommunities, in collaboration with GIZ-WE (German Development Cooperation), hosted an inspiring event at Ramada Plaza Hotel Karachi as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
💡 Theme: “Towards 30 Years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action: UNiTE to End Violence Against Women”
The program highlighted the importance of:
🔸 Recognizing women’s paid & unpaid contributions to the economy
🔸 Raising awareness to prevent violence against women
🔸 Promoting accountability for ending gender-based violence
✨ Panel Discussion: The World of Work and Women – How Can We Count Women’s Work?
💬 Experts like Dr. Noreen (Oxfam Pakistan), Farhat Parveen (NOWCommunities), Malka Khan, Rubeela Bangash, and Rehana Yasmeen shared impactful insights and solutions to empower women in both formal and informal sectors.
Together, we’re building stronger strategies, supporting women’s rights organizations, and taking proactive steps to protect and empower women.
