National Organization for Working Communities – NOWCommunities, under the project “Women’s Voice and Leadership – Pakistan” is working to facilitate the All Lady Health Worker Programme Union – ALPU. In this regard, on 18th December 2023, NOWCommunities organized a consulation meeting on the issue of service structure of the LHWs in Sindh. The consultation meeting was attended by various improtant stakeholders including Health Minister Sindh, DG Health Dr Waqar Memon, ADG RMNCH Dr Khalid Memon, senior trade unionist Habib ud Din Junaidi, Mirza MAqsood Ahmed, and Saeed Baloch, Reppresentativ of American Consulate, and Journalists. In the meeting the LHWs discussed the issues faced by the LHWs becuase of not having a suitable service structure. The Health Minister Dr Saad Khalid Niaz appreciated the efforts of LHWs for the underprivilieged population of the country. As well announced that he will look into the matter and will try to resolve the issues that the LHWs are facing in Sindh.
