Seminar on Violence Against Women (Economic rights, resources and independence)

KARACHI, Dec 05: The National Organization of Working Communities (NOW Communities) hosted a round-table seminar at the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) office on the theme of violence against women, particularly economic violence against women workers.

The event discussed major findings from NOW Communities’ research report titled: “Lady Health Workers: work, violence, and share in economic resources” funded by Oxfam, which explored the connection between violence against women and girls, women’s access to resources and independence. The seminar was attended by activists, journalists, government officials and civil society members, such as HRCP member Abdul Hai and Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department Hasina Jamali.
