October 13th, 2023 National Organization for Working Communities – NOWCommunities, under its project “Women’s Voice and Leadership – Pakistan (WVL-P)”, is aiming at the institutionalization of the Gender Leadership Program – GLP. In doing so, NOWCommunities is engaging with young women from universities for their capacity strengthening and promotion of women leadership at the community level. On the 13th of October 2023, NOWCommunities conducted its first capacity-strengthening workshop with the the students from Department of Development Studies, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. The objective of this workshop was to introduce the students to the idea of GLP and build the necessary foundation for upcoming workshops. During the workshop, Ms Iqra Gulzar (a GLPier from NOWCommunities) and Ms Sadia Baloch (program manager, WVL-P, NOWCommunities) engaged with students and briefed them on the GLP program. They also facilitated the discussion on the topics of Leadership and Gender, interactively. Here are some glimpses of the day.
